What Is The Medication For Watery, Yellowish Stools And Vomiting Due To Overeating By A Child?
Hi, My 4 year old daughter over ate yesterday, causing vomiting (twice) early in the morning along with loose motion. The vomiting has stopped but her stool is watery with light yellowish color and foul smell. She usually has the constipation issue and this is a first time that she's having loose motion. Apart from this, she's active and has no fever. Please suggest some pediatric syrup.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Vomiting and loose motions could be due to gastrointestinal infection. The first step to be taken is to replace the water and electrolyte losses due to vomiting and loose motions. You can give the ORS solution at regular intervals. If ORS is not available you can prepare it by mixing one table spoon of sugar and pinch of salt in a glass of water. Maintain nutrition of the child by feeding the child with energy giving foods like dal-rice, curd-rice, etc. Observe bowel movements for a day. If loose motions do not stop soon you need to consult a pediatrician for stool examination to look for any evidence of infection. If the motions stop spontaneously no medication needs to be taken.
