What Is The Minimum Time To Quit Before A Stress Test For A 62 Obese Diabetic Male?
Am 62 obese, diabetic, male who radically changed my diet for the better. All my blood tests came back mid range normal including cholesterol. Chest x ray shows no abnormalities. Blood pressure at rest is 130/68. I am fine with no caffeine, but am a tobacco addict, in the process of quitting but not there yet. What is the minimum time to quit before a stress test?
Smoking cessation would be a good addition to your new healthy lifestyle.
For stress testing, it is generally recommended that a person does not smoke for at least 2 hours prior to the test so you do not need to be completely free of smoking prior to this investigation.
If you find it difficult to stop smoking on your own you may want to speak to family, friends or your family doctor for help.
I hopes this helps
