Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a nuclear stress test. My heart refraction rate rate is 70%, which I know is good. My question is, When the stress test was done and the medication was injected, my heart rate only went up to 101. Blood pressure 114/70. I am 51 years old. Is this a normal reading, or should my heart rate been higher?
Maximum heart to be achieved depends upon the age, like in you it would be around 170, but this is during exercise. This is lower but not necessarily abnormal, because this also depends upon amount of medicine injected, so they might not have injected sufficient amount of medicine may be avoid any side effects or they might have achieved what they wanted to see. So not to worry about this parameter in this test and look for the results if the test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar Makode
