What Is The Normal Level Of Fluid Index In A Pregnant Woman?

Hi,
I'm pregnant. 38 weeks and 1 day completed and EDD as per the lastest scan is 09 February. The following is the scan report.

BPD - 9.32cm
HC - 33.72cm
FL - 7.52cm
AC - 31.28cm
Estimated fetal weight : 3020gms +/- 441grams
Amniotic Fluid Index - 7.09cm

Now, my question is about the Fluid Index - 7.09cm.
Could you please let me know if it is very less? And also if my baby is to small or normal. Baby movement is normal. Kindly suggest.
I have a schedule appointment to my doctor on Monday.(Jan 27). However, just wanted to take your opinion as well.

Thanks
Gema

Hi,
You are almost at term. But your AFI is slightly below normal. We like to keep it it at least 10 at all times. Although your date is near, and AFI decreases with maturity, sometimes too low AFI may cause fetal problems. Note the fetal movements and consider your doctor's advice.
