Hi Dr. Samuel. My name is Andrew. A few minutes ago when I was going to bed I noticed a tenderness pain in the upper area of my chest to the right of my sternum. When I felt that area I noticed that the right side was a little larger than the left. Do you have any idea what this could be?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through you query.Your problem is most likely costochondritis of ribs. For my patients with such condition i treat with anti inflammatory gels like diclofenac or nimusulide gel for local application. For some i give same drugs as oral tablet also.Anyhow its better to have an ECG and chest X ray to rule out heart and lung problems to be on safe side.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
