What Is The Possible Information Should I Carry To A Hospital For Drug Addiction?
Recently my son, a second year student of M.Sc.Int. course at EMRC at Indore university has shown abnormal behaviour and on pressing him he has admitted taking drugs and has sought a help to come out of this habit. I consulted my close friend who is a doctor himself. He has advised to admit him in nursing home to bring his biological cycle in order and cut off my son from his friend circle. He has advised to take my son to NIMHANS to understand seriousness of problem and line of treatment. I have contaced NIMHANS drug de-addiction centre who have advised me to come to the centre on monday or thursday or saturday 9am. Accordingly I am travelling along with my son & wife and reaching to centre on saturday 9am. What kind of posible information/ things I should carry along with me?
Dear User Thanks for using health care magic. I don't think you need to carry anything. Only history is important for your son's treatment. You are going to the right place for treatment. Just be prepared to stay there for a month if they advise admission there. He first need to undergo detoxification (preferably on an inpatient basis in NIMHANS) and then long term counselling (relapse prevention counselling). Wishing him a speedy recovery.
