What Is The Probability Of Pregnancy After Taking Plan B Post Intercourse?
Hey. Had unprotected sex on the 27th of August. Took Plan B later that day. Began lightly spotting ten days later. Did not get my period afterwards. Took a pregnancy test and got a negative test result. Still have not had my period since the 27th of August but I don t feel as though I have any symptoms of pregnancy. Probability of pregnancy? Can I take another pregnancy test now and will it be accurate or should I just go in to see my doctor? Thanks.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
When Plan B is taken within 72 hours of sex (earlier the better). The chance of pregnancy is excluded. Please don't worry. Bleeding after 10 days you had, was an indication of hormones inbuilt in the medicine, had left your body. Your normal period gets delayed by 8-10 days due to the emergency contraceptive consumed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
