Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have anxiety about passing gas during class. When it is quiet, especially during a test or during reading time, I get the strange feeling that I need to toot. I begin to worry that it is going to happen and that everyone will laugh at me, but as soon as I ask to go to the bathroom in a panic, I will leave the room and I'll be totally fine. It doesn't happen at home or with my family, only at school or church, which leads me to believe it's an Anxiety problem rather than a digestive problem. What do I do?
HI. Very true, this is an anxiety problem but a very mild one. What is the problem if you pass gas in such a place. It is better to lose an inhibition than to increase the problem which is not at all serious. Lose the inhibition and your problem will get solved on its own. Not going to school or church is not a solution.
