What Is The Prognosis For Breast Cancer With Multiple Metastasis?
Hello, I have just been advised my mother has been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer from her previous breast cancers. She had breast cancer in her left breast when 43 and then 12 years later was diagnosed for BC on her right. She had a masectomy of both breasts. We've been told the cancer is in multiple places in her bone now. Should we prepare ourselves for a short life expectancy? Researching so far does not look positive. Is it possible for her to have the 5 year expectancy outcome? My mother is 62 years of age. Thank you. Vanessa - Sydney, Australia.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Yes, it looks like prognosis is poor - with distinct metastasis. 2.5 years ? see this all depends on the patient overall condition (immunity condition ) and underlying medical conditions ( other systemic disease). 3.No one can exactly give time. 4.Give her good time and healthy life - some time it may give more time than expected with controlled other medical conditions. 5.Hope it helps you. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
