What Is The Prognosis For Frozen Pelvis That Has Invaded The Bladder And Colon While Experiencing Nausea, Vomiting And Back Pain?
My 28 year old daughter was diagnosed with a frozen pelvis which was only discovered after she had surgery to remove her Fallopian tubes. The tubes were not removed because the frozen pelvis had invaded her bladder and colon. Now she is having nausea and vomiting along wit back pain
The definitive treatment of advanced endometriosis is surgical. Using hormones (danazol or Gnrh analogues) for a couple of months can help control the pain and other symptoms and reduce the size of the endometriotic lesions. If you are not responding very well to hormone treatment surgery can be done if required.
The main goal of surgery is excision of the endometriotic lesions and to separate the organs bound together by the scar tissue. This can be done through minimally invasive laparoscopy but sometimes an open surgery may be required. After surgery you may still need hormonal medications to achieve adequate control.
Nsaids like ibuprofen and diclofenac can help control pain and inflammation. Although severe endometriosis is a challenge to diagnose and treat it is still very treatable and if surgery is needed the outlook is good. Surgery (if required)can very well control your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
