What Is The Prognosis For Heart Failure?

my boyfriend just found out his heart is operating at 10% and his kidneys are starting to fail. Will he be able to live a somewhat normal life or is it a wait and see situation he couldn t really tell me much more and I didn t want to keep him on the phone too long as he already sounds like its hard for him to breathe.
