What Is The Prognosis If Ejection Fraction Is Below 40?
my husband had open heart surgery last November. repaired mitrile valve, double bypass of vessels, and the maze procedure for afib. his ejection fraction is below 40 , low blood pressure, low heart rate(some days 45 or lower) lots of fluid retention . on all the right meds but he is getting worse again. gonna get a dual pacemaker in a couple of weeks. he has heart failure that the docs say was cause by a virus he had years ago. my question is how long can his heart go on. will the pacemaker make him somewhat better?
