Hi I m siddika 32 years old married for four n half years but didn t conceive till now .my doc has advised me to take Bigmet 850 mg once a day.Is bigomet n bigmet is same tablet.n shall I take it once or twice also can b taken.do u have any better suggestion for me as I don t have any problem with my period its normal
Both the drugs (Bigmet or Bigomet) contain the same medication Metformin. Metformin basically used to help control diabetes (insulin sensitizer) has also been effectively used in the treatment of Polycystic ovarian disease to reduce insulin resistance.
It is usually prescribed twice daily. Its most common side effects of are diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, flatulence, indigestion, and abdominal discomfort & very rarely lactic acidosis. It is given with meals to reduce the gastrointestinal side effects.
If there is no response with Metformin, you may need ovulation inducing drug like Clomiphene with follicular monitoring which will make you conceive soon and take progestrone to avoid preterm labour.
Hope this answers your query.
