Hi,
* Delayed periods are due to various causes like physical or psychological stress, weakness, post severe illness, hormonal imbalance, uterine problems etc.
* Home pregnancy test is reliable when done after 8 days delay in periods.
* When pregnancy is excluded other conditions need to be evaluated by physical examination &investigations as indicated.
* Please consult a gynecologist for more specific advice.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
