What Is The Reason For Pain And Stiffness In The Neck Along With Headaches?

Started with extreme lower neck pain stiffness, turns to headache from back of neck up over top of skull to forehead. Felt extremely sleepy two days checked it off as my period. I got a period lasted a day. neck pain worsen. When pain is intense the desire not to move neck and lay down. NO fever that I can tell. But neck pain is strange. when I touch the lower part of neck the pain is so intense I feels like when you push on your sinus when you have a sinus headache ...extremely painful to push

Hi,

This neck pain associated with head pain is generally caused by cervical spondylosis ( degenerative disease of spine). To confirm the diagnosis X rays are required. Treatment Consists of pain killers ,muscle relaxants and Isometric Neck Exercises. For long term prevention Exercises are a must.
