For about a week I have been having pain under my right ribs. Really hurts when I sit down, when I bend over to pick something off the floor or just move right. Sometimes I feel like I need to take a deep breath. I was having pain across the upper part of my chest a few weeks ago but have not had those symptoms lately. I have Fibromyalgia and RA. I have had my gall bladder removed, have had a hysterectomy.
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you should get done chest x ray first and rule out pneumonia and pleural effusion. As both of these can cause inflammation of pleura and this gives symptoms of pain under rib cage, pain on deep breathing at movement etc. So if chest x ray is normal than I think it is muscular pain only. Due to muscle pull. Avoud movement causing pain and avoid heavy weight lifting. Apply warm water during bath. Take painkillers with muscle relaxant. Wear chest belt so that minimal movement of painful area occur.
