What Is The Reason For Prolonged Chest Pain?

ive been experiencing pain in the left side of my chest for quite sometime now ( 3 years or more ) ive been seen for it before but not to say anything to bad about the doctors they were pretty busy and didnt really care to listen to what i was saying and chocked it up to muscular/skeletal pain which i dont believe it was especially since its been going on for years now.. The pain is about 4 fingers below my collar bone and the pain gets so bad at times it drops me to my knees. it wasnt so bad when it started nor was it so often but maybe my 4 years in the active duty army could have possibly made it worse..? here lately it gets really bad and a lot more often, mainly at night. sometimes during the day but its almost every night now.. its just beginning to make me a bit nervous. but i was just kind of hoping for your thoughts on this so i could do a little research with what you might think is going on before i actually go to the doctor for it. Thank you for your time and i look forward to what your thoughts are.

Hi.
Thanks for writing your query.

It will be more helpful if you give more information on :-
1. Is your pain related with food?
2. Any history of injury?

After reading your post, it seems that your pain can be due to increase in acid and gas production in stomach. This can result in chest pain.

I would like to advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40 mg along with Domperidone 30 mg once a day before meals.

Following precautions will also be helpful :-
1. Avoid oily and spicy foods.
2. Do not remain empty stomach for long durations.
3. Avoid mental/emotional stress.
4. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
5. Drink lots of water daily.

If the problem persists, get an Electrocardiogram and 2D Echocardiography done after getting yourself clinically examined.

I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
