What Is The Reason For Sweet Smelling Urine In A Patient With A History Of Hypertension And PVC?

I'm having sweet smelling urine even though my urine is light yellow. Also noticed some dizziness. I have a family history of diabetes. Mother died at 58 and my younger brother has IDDM. I'm 41 yes old and have was recently diagnosed with HTN and too many pvc's. I was started on amolodipine and metoprolol which was started at 25mg and had been increased twice to a dose of 75mg BID

Hello
As you mentioned that your mother were a diabetic patient and your brother is also a diabetic . IDDM is usually a hereditary disease .
As you mentioned that you are having hypertension and many PVC'S .
As you have noticed sweet smelling urine so please get in HBC1 C and blood sugar as well urine examination ( complete and culture ) .
As in hypertensive patient with family history of diabetes more chance of sugar in urine .
Ketone bodies also causes such type of sweet smell so get in urine complete .
Consult a diabetologist and get his opinion.
