What Is The Recommended Folic Acid Dosage During Pregnancy?
Hi, I m currently 5 weeks into my first pregnancy (28 years of age) where I plan to visit a gynea only in 3 weeks time. Mean time, I have a few burning questions. Prior to getting pregnant I have been taking supplements: Calcium (2tabs / daily) Omega-3 (2tabs /daily), and Iron with Folic Acid (2 tabs /daily) all from Amway. 1. Do I continue on with the dosage or reduce / increase? 2. Any of the above supplements I should stop taking? 3. The Iron with folic acid has 10mg iron and 0.133mg folate. How many tablets should I take whilst in first trimester? Been taking 2 daily before this. Thanks in advance.
Hello Welcome to Health Care Magic. 1. folic acid 0.5 mg once a day 2. iron should not be taken in first 3 months of pregnancy 3. calcium one tab/day, omega-3 two tabs/day Hope this information helps you. Best wishes.
