What Is The Relationship Of Klinefelter Syndrome And Congestive Heart Failure?
My husband is 72 years old. He weighs 222 pounds, he is 5' 7". He has a complicated medical history. Diabetic, Hypothyroidism, CVD. He has Klinefelter Syndrome and recently diagnosed with CHF. He recently had Atrial Flutter/Fib and had an Ablation. He had/has CHF because of arrythmia. What is the relationship of Klinefelter and CHF. Can one aggravate the other and what type of physician should he see. He is on Testosterone replacement every 3 weeks.
HI welcome to HCM. The cause of CHF -congestive heart failure in your husband's case is primarily due to combination interplay of longstanding diabetes ,CVD and hypothyroidism.Yes of course klinefelter's syndrome can aggravate CHF due to metabolic ,hormonal and drug related/testosterone induced factors. You should see a combination of doctors which should include a cardiologist and an endocrinologist for a better holistic approach.Weight reduction to 120 pounds can control the worsening of CHF symptoms.Consult your doctors for further queries. Thank you
