Hello, I just got back from Mexico and I have had severe diarrhea for four days. First my stomach grumbles and 5-10 minutes after eating or drinking, I have to go. I was fine in Mexico, it is only when I returned to the states. My bum hurts so badly that I am going to cry!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of diarrhea since 4 days which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance in body leading to acute gastroenteritis and food poisoning. It seem sto be due to viral infection of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- You should avoid taking dairy products in excess.
- You can take banana on daily basis and light food.
If symptoms keeps on persisting visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should take proper course of medications such as proton pump inhibitors.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
