Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi..Hi...I have been dealing with joint pain issues for almost 7 years now. I have had high RA factors and high Sed rates for 5 years. My rheumy didn't diangose me with RA five years ago because my anti ccp was negative. ( tried to blame it on FM) fast forward to present day..I saw my GP he tested my RA it was greater then 256. So back to the rhuemy I go..He immediatley starts talking FM..dismissing my joint pain and abnormal blood work. He runs a sed rate and it was high too..He is still not diagnosing me with RA.. I am seeing another rhuemy, but can't get in until June. Does a negative anti ccp rule out RA? he didnt do a anti ccp this time, he said I was negative in 09?? Im confused about my RA factor being so elevated, alone with a high sed rate and joint pain...
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi After going through your query,i want to make it very clear rheumatoid arthrits is mostly a clinical base diagnosis that is to say-multiple joint pain with swelling mostly in small joint's with bilateral symmetrical in distribution, morning stiffness of some duration(> 1 hour). These are few feature suggestive of rheumatoid arthritis,do you have that?Any family history of multiple joint pain?Just discuss with your doctor and start if he agree for Methotrexate,HCQS,Siazopyrine. Take care and hopefully your query is answered.I shall be glad to answer if you have any query further.
