But other secondary causes (like a brain lesion, or intracranial hypertension) can not be excluded either. Is the pain throbbing or like pressure? Is it diffuse or located in a specific region of the head? Do you have other symptoms like intolerance to the light or noise during headache? What about nausea or vominting? The answer to these questions would help orientations towards a certain diagnosis. Anyway, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and some tests: - a brain MRI - complete blood count for anemia - inflammation tests (PCR, sedimentation rate).
