my son is 2 yrs old, for the past one day he is suffering from severe loose motion and vomit,we went to an child specialist ,he recommended Zenflox and Dexar syrup,but no remedy today whatever he intakes it goes thru loose motion and fever is up tro 101 D Celcuis pl do advice us Ashok ooty
Continue the treatment as prescibed. Zenflox is an antibiotic (ofoxacin) and it generally takes 4 doses or 48 hours to show its results. You should treat the fever with syrup Crocin or Ibugesic Plus. If fever does not subside with these medicine start cold sponging on forehead. abdomen and feet. However consult your pediatrician before starting any medicines or if fever persists.
Keep him feeding light food like curd rice, banana, khichdi and give him ORS/ Electral powder mixed in appropriate amount of water. Lemon water with sugar and salt, coconut water and buttermilk can also be given.
Warning signs are following (if any of these occurs rush to hospital) 1) not responding/ excessive sleepy 2) not feeding 3) irritated 4) dry tongue and mouth 5) excessive thirst 6) decreased urination 7) no tears.
