What Is The Remedy For Severe Pain In The Left Lung After Having Stopped Smoking?

Hello Doctor, I feel severe pain in my left lung. I used to smoke for 1 1/2 years and now I quit it all of a sudden without any medication. After a week of quitting slowly cough developed and its been a month now and from the past few days the is a dark phlegm when I cough and I my left lung hurts me. Kindly help me with this. Thank you Sir.

Thanks for the query to HCM Forum.
As you mentioned that you quit smoking just now all of a sudden .
Now you are having pain in the lung ( left) with cough and dark colored phlegm ( expectoration) from one month.
Reason may be .
1 Pleural effusion , diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest as well physical examination by a physician.
2 The 2nd possibility may be consolidation ( pneumonitis ) of left lung as in this type of condition patient feel pain during breathing. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest.
3 Carcinoma of left lung , some times dark colored expectoration may be due to carcinoma ( history of smoking is an indication).M R I will find out .
Consult a physician and get his opinion.
