My 21 year old son has had swollen glands in his tonsils for over a month. He went to ENT and had two rounds of antibiotics that did nothing to reduce the swollen gland. He then went back to the ENT and had a cortisone shot and that did nothing as well. He has no pain, sore throat, or any other symptoms, except that he is prone to a large amount of ear wax on the side where the gland is swollen. The doctor didn't find anything in the ear on the first visit, just said he had earwax, but I think this may be causing the swollen gland as he is a musician and is often using ear buds, headphones, and professionally designed ear plugs that are fitted to his ears. He had his ears irrigated over a year ago for wax, but since then hasn't had any noticeable symptoms of any problems. Thanks for your opinion. Best, -ES
