What Is The Remedy For The Pain In My Legs When I Walk After An Injury?
i fell 10 days ago in subway and my right leg went forward and left leg went backward and turned inward (as in a split). I went to urgent care and was advised to ice my leg. Now my leg is very warm to the touch with bruises and a swollen section. It hurts when I go up and down stairs, when I walk for too long and when I try to straighten it.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. You fell 10 days ago and had bruises, which developed pain. Usually muscle cramps/ sprain may produce pain from the very beginning of fall and you might not have able to walk properly. A muscle cramp will not hurt you in resting position. It only produces pain during movements involving that muscle. So pain in muscle cramp is not present constantly. Whereas in DVT (deep vein thrombosis), pain may be present constantly. It is often associated with tense swelling of the entire leg, local rise of temparature over the affected leg, redness may be present at times. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
