What Is The Remedy For The Pain In Throat And Chest?

my throat and chest is in such pain after drinking italian cream soda tonight. It hurts to swallow. Like a black and blue mark in my throat is the best way I could put it. First was the breathing in sharp pain now the tight throat. Thought I was allergic but then I remembered I had two of them and I haven't had soda in two years. Is that the problem?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in throat and chest, well the symptoms you mention in query probably occurring due to allergic reaction to soda or viral infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination as infection has already spread to respiratory track . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test , complete blood profile. Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs ( acyclovir ) at-least for a week along with decongestants and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to pulmonologist for chest pain. For now do warm saline gargles , take steam , take proper rest , keep yourself hydrate.
