What Is The Remedy For The Selling In The Feet To The Point Of Not Fitting Into Shoes?
Thank you. I am a 60 year old male. I have swelling of the feet to a point where I can no longer wear shoes. Swelling is limited to the feet only (not ankles or legs). Several years ago I had an ultrasound on my legs and it was determined that the check valves in my veins were not working properly. Compression stockings were recommended as treatment, but were not effective. I have no other symptoms other than the swelling of the feet. I run daily (2-3 miles) but its to a point where my feet get so hot that running is no longer enjoyable. Any suggestions to alleviate this condition? Thank you Tom Rolph
Hello. Your feet get swollen bcz of chronic venous insufficiency..valves of veins in feet not functioning properly to pump the blood to the heart. So resulting in swelling of feet.
Conservative measures include: *Avoid prolonged standing or sitting *Do exercise without hurting your feet *Avoid overweight *Elevate your leg when lying down or sitting *Compression stockings which fit well should be worn but try remove them at night. * If severe pain occurs then painkillers may help you.
