What Is The Safe BP Threshold For A Lasix Dose To Overcome Fluid Retention After TAVR And Pacemaker Placement?
Hi, my mother has TAVR and pace maker put in recently. She has extreme fluid retention and is on 4o mg lasix twice a day. She was told to hold the dose of lasix if her blood pressure is under a certain number. She can’t remember the exact number. Can you help me please?
Your doctor has given you Lasix for reducing the fluid retention. However, as Lasix can also reduce the blood pressure. Therefore, your doctor might have asked you to reduce the dose of Lasix, if blood pressure comes down to a threshold. Exact number may depend on the clinical condition of the patient. Still, 130/80 may be taken as an acceptable desired level in most of the cases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
