Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
Bleeding in the 34 weeks may be due to
placenta previa [ placenta is near the
cervix and causes bleeding as the
uterus grows or contracts], vasa previa [ blood vessels covering the membranes around the baby near the cervix, abruption [ premature separation of placenta].
The best test for these is an
ultrasound with color doppler to look for blood flow. If this has not been done, get it done urgently.
If the cause is placenta previa or vasa previa, complete
bed rest with or without drugs to relax the uterus may be used. If the cause is abruption, you must go back to the ER as it may progress and the baby needs monitoring.
So please get an urgent ultrasound done and discuss it with your doctor.
Hope this was helpful.
Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
