I am sorry to hear that your mother is having problems with her memory and restlessness. You mention senile atrophy which is a loss of brain matter on CT scan. This is a normal change as we all get older and is not associated with any particular disease. What she does have is a form a dementia for which your doctor has been prescribing medication to help her memory. Nexito is the first line medication to help with her memory. This medication helps for the first 3-5 years but it eventually has little effect because of the natural decline seen in dementia. She is also on two medications Alzil and olenz which are used for depression and restlessness. Depending on the dose she may need additional increase in her doses to reduce her restlessness. I recommend you discuss this with her doctor. He may need to change the medication as there are other choices to help with her restlessness. From your overall description I would comment that she is on the correct medication but there can be changes that may better fit her situation.
