I have a painful inner thigh whether I am resting or walking Two weeks ago I had pain behind my knee down my calf to the instep of my foot on the same leg. I was incapacitated for five days. Had ultra sound on both legs. Some plaque build-up but not enough to require surgery. Am diabetic.
There are so many reasons for painful inner thigh. which may vary from most simple reasons to more complex ones.
But each should be confirmed and further investigated by various investigations.
In diabetes the incidence of simple furuncles and carbuncles which is most commonly involves the root of hair follicle can cause redness and painful inner thigh.
Secondly there might be some infection and inflammation in the localised area involving the subcutaneous fat and muscles.
In rare causes there might be deep vein thrombosis which is common in diabetes and needs to be evaluated by limb doppler examination.
Thanks
