What Is The Suggestion For Severe Cough And Chest Pain?

hi i have had a really bad cough for over two weeks, coughing up thick green lumps of mucus every 10 minutes with sometines what looks like black in it. i have been on erythromycin for three days now , and now have another symptom of a bitter taste which now accompanies the coughing and mucus and pain in my chest and stomach i assume is from the persistent coughing. Is the development of new symptoms mean the antibiotics arnt working. The doctor prescribed them over the phone and i havnt been examined.

Hello
Since you are having cough with green ( black also ) mucus or phlegm from last 2 weeks and in spite of erythromycin don't got relief .
Now you are also having pain in stomach , I want to tell you that stomach pain is due to gastritis caused by cough and antibiotics used.
For this take antacid syrup ( this will be sufficient).
Now main question is you received this treatment over phone ( in complete history ).
This type of symptoms may be due to these reasons, these includes.
1 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis , as this is most common cause . Patient develops cough , whistling sound , difficult breathing , watery eyes , itching in nose & over face. When such type of patient visit I usually prescribe them monteleukast+ bambuterole tablet once or twice in day till complete relief .
2 Bronchiectasis may the next reason . Get in XRAY chest and sputum examination.
Other most common causes are pneumonitis ( x RAY chest ) , lung abscess ( X ray chest0, tuberculosis ( sputum & x RAY examination).
Antibiotics not working ? asked by you .
I would like to say that these symptoms are from long duration so please consult a physician and get his opinion.
