What Is The Tenderness At My Nose Tip After A Fall?

i fell over last night and landed on my nose. I heard a little grisly crack in my nose when it happened but it didn t bleed or swell and it still hasn t today. It doesn t appear out of shape and I can breath through it fine. However, it is very tender at the tip of my nose and when I wiggle the end of it. Could it be broken? Do I need to get this checked out or am I worrying over nothing?I would appreciate your advice

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

With the trauma nose, the important things to note are:
1) Visible deformity / swelling
2) Nasal Obstruction
3) Pain

The first two issues are the most important and as you mentioned there is no deformity or swelling and you are able to breathe from the nose then there is nothing to worry about. Take 2 tablets Tylenol as on need bases and do not touch the nose. The pain will go away soon. Meanwhile, keep a close eye on any visible deformity, swelling or difficulty in breathing and if any of these develop, then visit your local ENT surgeon without further delay.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
