Hi, I have C O P D and emphysema not sure on the spelling, sorry. I just got my disability and can t afford my affair so they are giving me symbicort. I m not doing well on it and my Doctor is in a clinic that can t give it out. I live with my daughter and I can t get insurance because if DHHR knows I stay here they will cut her benefits. Sad put true. Any Idea s on a better choice of med? Please help if u can. Sincerely Candie Brown
I can understand your concern, as I have personally seen a few of my family members suffering from COPD. While it is not a curable disease and the problem increases when there is emphysema. While there is no cure for it, a combination of proper timely medication, and a healthy lifestyle avoiding undue stress and physiotherapy, both the duration and quality of life can be improved.
Steam inhalation seems to be effective in acute exacerbation.
