What Is The Treatment For Premature Ventricular Contractions?

I had an ablation for PVC (20%) of my heart beats. They are located in my AV Node area. I was told to eliminate them would possibly destroy 50-70% of my heart, and I would be dependent on a pacemaker of some type, with not to good results for the rest of my life. I trust my Doctors they are the best in my area, but still I hoping there is something else out there.

Hi welcome to HCM.
Premature ventricular contractions generally known as Ectopics are treated with antiarrhythmic drugs like Adenosine and verapamil.24 hour Holter ECG and electrophysiological studies can accurately estimate the ectopics.Radiofrequency ablation is often indicated in resistant cases when the ectopic pacemaking focus is found out. This mode of treatment offers permanent cure.2 dimensional echocardiography is needed to rule out organic heart disease.Reduction in the intake of coffee and alcohol will help to prevent further ectopics.Consult your doctor for further care.
Thank you.
