What Is The Treatment For A -7 Vision Of A Child's Eye?

I seek medical consultation for my nephew's eye problem. His right eye has negative eye power of -7, and in the left eye -1. I sought medical help for his sufferings and doctors are suggesting eye exercises to rejuvenate his nerves that helps him in vision. I want some suggestion on how to deal with such severe eye problem.

Children with gross difference of power in eyes could cause problem with development of binocular single vision( ability see as single sharp image with both eyes).

As you are mentioning doctors suggestion for exercises for vision possibly suggest child has developed squinting of eyes.

In any case child power needs to be corrected primarily even for eyes which have developed squinting( squinted eye in this condition is called lazy eye).

Correction can be done with special glasses(iseikonic lenses), contact lens and very rarely refractive surgery. It is very important to correct immediately to prevent squinting, lazy eye.

Lazy eye : there is need to cover( Patching eye) better eye for couple of hours a day to make lazy eye work.

Hence this child needs appropriate correction of his powers immediately.

Regards.
