I Have had a large boil on my back for two weeks. It started draining about a week ago. It is still draining a little bit, several drops a day. The puss is foul smelling. Should I go to urgent care center or wait to have my personal dr look T it? FYI I am diabetic.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. In diabetes, healing of any wound or infection is delayed. Also chances of getting a severe bacterial infection carbuncle is high. In your case too, a carbuncle has to be ruled out. Oral and topical antibiotics antibiotics, warm water compresses are definitely required. Your doctor will ascertain whether incision and drainage is required or not. Please meet a dermatologist nearby. Take care
