What Is The Treatment For A Callous?

I have a callous that has been getting progressive worse over the last ten years on my pinky knuckle, (at the hand) I have zero sensation in it, and must periodically peel away skin (i have taken to filing it) in order for my knuckle to look temporarily normal? This all started when i was in a bareknuckle boxing match when i was 21. I knocked the fellow out, but had pain in my knuckle. doctor at the time said it wasn't broken, but with a few weeks, the callousing began.

Hello,

The callus needs to be removed when it forms and the root has to be excised otherwise it would recur. Therefore, you should contact a general surgeon for this. Following removal, any pressure that the area is subjected to should be addressed. Generally, if the inciting cause can be corrected the callus would not recur.
