What Is The Treatment For An Ovarian Cyst?
I have an ovarian cyst that is 7 cm. Should I take birth control pills to see if it shrinks it or get it surgically removed. I had one that was 5 cm rupture a couple of months ago and I was bleeding internally. I almost died. My cat scan showed a large mass and the hospital thought I had cancer. One doctor figured it out and I had a exploratory lap and they removed the blood. I had blood transfusions. I guess I'm just scared it would happen again.

In view of the size of the cyst and also of your past history, you should immediately see a specialist and get properly managed. Please do not self-medicate yourself. Cysts of the size of an inch or less can usually be medically managed, while those larger in size most often need surgical management.
