What Is The Treatment For Angina And Leg Pain?

Hi.
My father is 73yrs and this week he has to attend the hospital for a cardiolite stress test because he has angina. He also complains lately of painful legs even when sleeping and at times his legs become very cold and pale. Does the cardiolite stress test also test his legs or this is a different test all together

Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

He seems to have Coronary & Peripheral Arterial Disease
Both could be due to the same disease process – blocked arteries from atherosclerosis leading to reduced blood flow

Stress ECG does not test leg flow –
One needs a separate battery of tests / Doppler study is one; MRA is another….

One also needs aggressive investigation and management of risk factors – smoking? / Cholesterol / Diabetes …etc.

Angiogram and intervention (balloon dilatation & Stent) can give excellent outcome in most people

Take care
Good luck
