HI , my son is 3 yrs now . and he is on epilex 100 ml and keppra . he started this medicine when he was 2 months . now he is not speaking and not even walking independently . i see some symptoms of autism also . can anyone advise any medicine which can replace this epilex and doesnot have side effect . he is been treatde with physiotherapy and speech therapy started now .any better treatment anyone can recommend plz....
I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. The treatment to children with mental retardation should be inclusive. Your child should be made to interact with other normal children of the age group. Mostly doctors suggest to send them to special schools, but I do not agree with that. MR children should be send to normal school with other children for some intellectual development. Child learns from what he sees. Let him see normal children and learn from them. Medicines such as epilex are also necessary. Only your child specialist can prescribe better ones because he knows your child better than us. Please consult him.
