What Is The Treatment For Avulsion Fracture In The Right Ankle.?

I had an avulsion fracture in my right ankle. I wore a walking boot for 3 weeks and did rehab therapy. After 3 weeks the doctor said I could go back to work. A few days after that, I started to feel some kind of pain inside my ankle. I thoigj it was normal, but after 10 days I saw a new doctor and had a new xray taken. He told me that the bone fragment had not attached to the bone and that the ligaments still need to recover. He sent me back to rehab. My question is: Is there still time for my fragment to get back to the bone? Or Do I need surgery? If the fragment does not attach, and I have no pain, do I still need surgery? Thanks for your help!!!

Hello,Thanks for your query.After going through your query I thinks you are suffering from fracture of both malleoli of right ankle.It can be confirmed by x ray.You have asked that is there still time for fragment to get back to the bone?Or Do you need surgery?. I need to see x-ray to tell this .Please send your x-ray to me.You have also asked that if the fragment does not attach, and you have no pain, do you still need surgery? I think in these cases surgery should be done because these are intraarticular fractures needs accurate reduction so that ankle function better.I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.Take care.
