What Is The Treatment For Black Colored Bowels Inspite Of Having IBS?

yes I have some ibs and the other night it started at 4.00am and lasted all day tehen that night it turned blackand was still like ibs so I was taking Imodium and finally got thit stopped then I didnt go to the bathroom for a couple days due to the imodiun so i stopped taking it the the next night i had a bowel movement but it is still very black what should i do?

Hi.The reason for black coloured stool is due to drugs like Iron or it is old clotted blood. i will advise you to get a stool ex. done for occult blood and see a surgeon who will do P/R , Proctoscopy to see any lesion in the anal area and may advise colonoscopy, if need be. Try to avoid immodium. For IBS, you need to change your diet pattern and lifestyle and try to relax.
