Dr. Misira I was exposed to arc welding for several hours Sunday and received a flash burn to my eyes and face. I went to the er Sunday Night and the attending physican applied numbing drops and die and stated that he didn't think I had permanent damage, but to see an opthamalogist. I did see a opthamalogist on Monday and he stated that he didn't see any permenant damage but my corenea was burnt and crumpled and I should be okay in several days. I have had blurred vision since Sunday and it is now Thursday night. I phoned the doctor on Wed and told him that I was still experiencing blurred vision but not much pain. He stated to wait until Thursday or Friday and if it was still blurry to call and come in on Friday. I am not sure if he is taking my injury serious enough, I have had serious blurred vision for five days tommorrow and was told it should clear up in two or three days. Is this comman for blurred vision to persist for almost five days after accident, I am just nervous and concerned. My eyes look clear and appear to not have any inflammation, just concerned about blurred vision after four days, should I be alarmed or is this a normal side affect. Thank you
you have received foveal burn. for future you can take preventive measure. Should put on protective glass. this will effect acuity of vision in one eye. complete recovery is notosiblle. in refraction what ever vision is recovered is enough. the damage is permanent.
