What Is The Treatment For Breech Position At 29 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi I am 29 weeks pregnant, i am 28 and just found out my baby is in breech and has a vsd. I have to wait two more weeks till I find out any more. Could you please tell me the best and worst case senario. Also could you please tell me if there is any chance of baby having down syndrome and a more likely chance due to the vsd.

Hello,
Sorry to hear that your unborn baby has VSD. The implication of this finding should be assessed with serial sonograms in consultation with a perinatologist to see if any intervention is needed early. Though VSD is a feature of Down's syndrome, it need not be always necessary. If in doubt, serial sonograms along with blood tests are done to rule out. Breech presentation as such should not be a problem in delivery; though, given the fact that the baby has a VSD, abdominal mode of delivery may be preferred to prevent stress to the bay faced during a vaginal delivery.
