Hi Doctor, I recently noticed a group of about 1 dozen skin colored slightly raised bumps on the shaft of me penis. I have been sexually active with the same partner for about four months now. Can you please advise me what this might be and how I can treat this?
Skin-colored raised bumps on the shaft of the penis may be pearly penile papules (PPP) as they are skin colored, in the shaft and do not cause any discomfort. PPP, is a harmless condition. It may not go by itself. Do examination by a urologist. If needed it can be removed for cosmetic purpose by procedures like laser therapy, cryotherapy, etc. To be on the safer side, you can get STD tests done. If tests come positive you will be treated with antivirals or antibiotics whatever is best for you. Take care of your hygiene. Wear soft loose fitting cotton clothes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
