I am having tightness in my left chest and have feeling of incomplete bowel evacuation . I consulted a gastroenterologist who carried out endoscopy and started treatment for GERD. The treatment contiunued for 06 months and I was on PPI . Afterwards I have stopped taking PPI for next 05 months though the symptoms remained same. Since April 2014 I am having a feeling of foreign body object in my throat. Again an endoscopy and D/L endoscopy was done and I started taking SOMPRAZ-L for two months. Since June I am on Rabaprazole- DSR and Rabaprazole but the foreign body sensation is not going. Kindly advice on further treatment and on long term side effects of Taking Rabaprazole twice daily. How long the medicine be taken for recovery.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you are having chronic GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) mostly. For proper treatment of GERD along with drugs you need lifestyle modifications as follows for better symptomatic relief. 1. Avoid hot and spicy food. 2. Avoid stress and anxiety. 3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals. 4. Go for walk after meals. 5. Keep 2-3 pillows under head in bad to prevent acid reflux. Another possibility is H.pylori infection. In chronic GERD, H.pylori infection must be rule out. So consult another gastroenterologist and discuss about possibility of H.pylori infection. And if present start treatment accordingly.
