What Is The Treatment For Cold And Cough Since A Week As There Is No Effect From Medication?

I am having cold & cough problem from past 7 days i took citizine & planokuf syrup for 3 days & now taking coldex DMR tablet & Azax -250 daily in night from yesterday also taking priton plain syrup Pl advice write treatment Regards Vijay Sharma YYYY@YYYY

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

I can understand your concern.

Continue using Coldex DMR Tablet(it contains antihistaminic-chlorpheniramine which helps in allergic symptoms like sneezing,watery nasal discharge and cough expectorant -Bromhexine ,Guauifenesin-which helps in breakdown of cough secretions) and Azax-500mg(It contains antibiotic-azithromycin.Dose is 500 mg once a day in adults).

Also you may get relief by taking Oral decongestant(like Phenyephrine) and Nasal Decongestant(like Xylometazoline)(take decongestant only if you are not suffering from high blood pressure,heart disease,kidney or urinary problem,high pressure in the eyes-glaucoma),
Analgesic and Antiinflammatory-if you suffer from headache.

Also do steam inhalation.Drink lots of fluids(warm).Avoid cold and very sweet food as they increase mucus production.Avoid dust,smoke and other pollutants.
